The Garden Remembered Itself
Blossoming Lotus is a Garden Temple Sanctuary in Nevada City, California.
When we first arrived, the garden needed care. The land had been cleared in some places, overgrown in others, and community spaces needed created.
People helped with what they could. Some gave money. Some gave encouragement. Some gave presence, materials, and care.
The larger funding did not come in.
So we began with what was here.
We sharpened old tools. We replaced handles. We cleared branches. We burned what needed to be returned and fed the gardens with ash. We composted directly into the beds where the soil needed it most.
The shade structure now stands over the gardens. Seeds are thriving. Trees have been mulched. More space has opened. More gardens have been planted.
Food and medicine are already coming from the land.
This is not a garden waiting to begin.
This is a garden already remembering.
Where We Began
What We Did With What We Had
At Blossoming Lotus Village, we are creating an outdoor kitchen, growing a community garden, and developing shared spaces that support nourishment, learning, and connection.
Each garden bed, pathway, and gathering area is being shaped through steady hands, shared effort, and a vision of living more closely with the land.

What Still Remains
The main unfinished piece is irrigation piping.
We found large buckets for water support, but simple PVC piping and valves would help keep the garden watered through dry season and make it easier for others to care for the beds after we move from this place.
